What Our Patients are Saying

"I have been going to BETA Therapeutics for the past few weeks now to get massage therapy and I have nothing but good things to say. The atmosphere is so peaceful and the staff are truly very kind and professional. They also do direct billing for icbc claims which made my process very easy and the receptionist was very helpful about what my options were. Definitely one of the best places to go if you need any treatments done!"

B.E.

"I've had appointments with several RMTs here and it's been a great experience each time. Welcoming atmosphere and all staff are friendly, professional, and great at what they do!"

A.K.

"We initially chose this clinic because of the convenient hours and location, free parking, online booking, and direct billing. We continue to go here because the clinicians are very skilled and professional, and the team is welcoming and inclusive. My husband and I have received massages from most of the team and we give them all 5 stars."

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN INITIAL MASSAGE THERAPY APPOINTMENT

When you arrive at Beta for your massage therapy appointment, you will be greeted by one of our patient care coordinators who will make sure that we have all of your personal and billing information up to date, and will help you with anything that is outstanding.

For your initial visit our RMT's usually recommend no less than a 45 or 60 minute appointment. This will allow your RMT to:

  • obtain your informed consent
  • understand your reason for coming in
  • review your health history
  • perform any necessary assessments
  • perform hands on treatment
  • offer any relevant homecare

It is encouraged to communicate any pain or discomfort you experience during an assessment or treatment. As much information as you can provide is the best way to help your massage therapist better understand your condition and meet your health and fitness goals.

DIRECT BILLING

We conveniently offer direct billing for many of our services. We recommend our patients find out what coverage is available for Registered Massage Therapy through their insurance providers. For more information on see our Direct Billing FAQ.

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY FAQ

A doctor’s referral is not necessary as Registered Massage Therapists and Acupuncturists are primary health care providers. However, some extended health care insurance plans require a doctor’s note in order for you to claim your treatment. It is best to check with your employer or insurance provider to obtain the specifics of how your plan works and what is required.

A first visit to our clinic generally requires a 45 or 60 minute appointment. Almost all appointments begin with a consultation where your therapist will review your health history and conduct any appropriate assessments and special tests. The remainder of time will be hands on followed by reassessment. If indicated, your therapist will recommend any appropriate homecare techniques which will help to support your personal healthcare goals.
For manual therapists to achieve the most effective results it is recommended that there is access to bare skin. Keep in mind that throughout the appointment your well-being is key and you are only ever encouraged to dress down to your comfort level. While you are on the table you will be draped under a sheet at all times and only the area being treated will be undraped. If you do choose to remain clothed for your treatment, athletic wear is the best choice (shorts, t-shirt, stretchy clothing).
This will be determined by both you and your therapist based on your individual healthcare needs. Should they be required, your therapist will discuss the frequency of upcoming treatments to find a schedule that best suits your wellness goals.
